Our final meeting for the trip was with Mari Brelloch from Kunstwerk am Flutgraben a complex of artists’ studios situated along the former Berlin Wall in Kreuzberg. He gave us a tour around the studios and onto the roof which was once patrolled by the boarder guards.

He then told us about his project Produkt und Vision: An experiment set-up between artists and businesses. Artists, consultants and scholars were brought together for a 6 month period with a business in an attempt to tease out some of the ways in which they could learn or adopt each others’ working models. These points for discussion and findings were brought together in an exhibition held at Kunstwerk am Flutgraben.

I guess this is more a general comment on the night programme of events. We only managed to attend a couple whilst we were there, but I think it was quite an amazing feat to realise a continual series of live events, different each night, for the duration of the whole biennial. This alternative programme i thought used the city and its nostalgic spaces to its advantage. Looking through the catalogue at the list of venues used,i think it gave the whole event a real mobility, a liveness and sense of participation.
