Day One - Tuesday 27 May 2008

After arriving at Berlin Schonefeld we took the S Bahn to Schesisches Tor in the Kreuzberg area of Berlin to our hostel Die Fabrik, a former butter factory. After a refreshing coffee on Schesischestraße some of the curators who had not been to Berlin before went to the Reichstag to see the view across the Tiergarten from Norman Fosters dome. Afterwards we went to meet the other half of the group in an Italian restaurant back in Kreuzberg.

Well...I guess I will start the ball rolling!...So the first day was when we got to our rooms, which were adequate..really liked the lobby area that enabled us to have an informal meeting!!....Karen, Hilary and I went and mooched around Kreuzberg for a couple of hours before dinner on the spree which was nice!...It's so often the priority to have a nice dinner!..

I really enjoyed this first afternoon, it reminded me of Berlin's ad-hoc approach to living. It was a good scene-setter for the hectic days to come!
